Candiauce Klein, Birth & Bereavement Doula
Q: What is a doula?
A: The word doula is a Greek word meaning 'woman servant or caregiver'. A doula refers to someone who offers emotional and physical support to a woman and her partner before, during, and after childbirth. A doula believes in 'mothering the mother'.
Q: Why do I need a doula?
A: Several studies have found that the presence of a doula can shorten labor, lessen interventions and cesareans, and even improve breastfeeding success!
Q: Are doulas for home births only?
A: Nope! I take clients for just about every situation. Home assisted with midwife, birth center, & hospital. Doulas are support for every kind of birth! Natural, medicated, c-section, and everything in between.
Q: Will a doula get in the way of my partner?
A: Absolutely not! Doulas are professionally trained to work with your partner or birth person to provide the best experience we can make possible for you and your family. I am there to support every member of your birth team and family.
Q: Will insurance cover a doula?
A: This is dependent on your insurance provider. Please check with them as some plans are becoming more doula service friendly! I do not file with insurance and it will be your responsibility.
Q: Do you offer discounts or specials?
A: Yes! Specials will be posted on my Facebook page so please check often! I offer discounts for bereavement families, military families, and adoptive families. In a bereavement case, please contact me personally to discuss options.
Q: What does your bereavement package entail?
A: Due to the personal and extreme differences in each birth, I base this off of each client's needs. I offer pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and extra services at minimal cost to bereavement clients. Please call to discuss personal needs.
Q. How can I sponsor doula services for a bereavement family?
A: I accept donations through Paypal or personal payments. Please contact me for personalized sponsorship details.
